International ‘Colors of Türkeli’ Fashion Design Competition – Third Place Award

I was awarded third place in this competition. My design drew deep inspiration from the nomadic lifestyle and cultural heritage of the Turks. In the design, horses, tents, and saddles played a central role; these elements carry both functional and symbolic meanings in Turkish culture.

The horse represents freedom, mobility, strength, and resilience in nomadic life. The tent symbolizes the endurance of nomadic communities, social cohesion, and the aesthetic of transient living. The saddle serves both as a functional object and as an aesthetic motif, emphasizing traditional details within the design. By combining these symbolic elements with a contemporary fashion approach, the design conveys the dynamism, aesthetic values, and historical heritage of nomadic culture in a modern form. This approach allowed me to reinterpret cultural heritage in a contemporary way, earning the third-place award in the competition.
