Poster and Video Design for Global Shakespeares

All poster and video materials for Ayhan Hülagü’s presentation on MIT Global Shakespeares at MIT University were designed by Ahmet Aglamaz. For this project, I created an original visual identity aligned with the thematic structure of the presentation, producing both poster and video content according to international professional standards.

The designs were published on MIT Global Shakespeares, a distinguished platform showcasing Shakespeare productions and research from around the world. Each visual element was carefully crafted to support the academic and artistic integrity of the project, ensuring a clean, impactful, and high-quality presentation.

These original designs were developed to enhance the project’s international visibility and provide a cohesive visual language that complements the research, staging, and overall narrative of the presentation.

Dream of Hamlet is a modern interpretation of Shakespeare’s Hamlet in shadow theatre. Karagoz, moving to America and settling down there, sets up a theatre with a close friend of his and decides to stage Shakespeare’s immortal piece of work. When the characters of genius playwright Shakespeare are included in the Karagoz performance, which is in the list of Unesco Intangible Cultural Heritage, an example of colorful experimental theatre comes into the stage full of laughter, a sense of humor, and irony. In other words, the Anatolian puppet theatre Karagoz, having a 700-year-old background of history, brings a modernist point of view to the plays of Shakespeare. Directed and

Performed by Ayhan Hulagu.
