Taç Selects the Home Textile Designers of the Future Ahmet Aglamaz Receives the TETSİAD Special Award
Taç, in collaboration with the Turkish Home Textile Industrialists’ and Businessmen’s Association (TETSİAD), announced the winners of the 9th edition of the “Design It Yourself Competition”. The award ceremony took place at The Seed, bringing together industry leaders, academics, and young designers.
During the ceremony, Zorlu Holding Chairman Ahmet Zorlu and Zorlu Textile Group President Vedat Aydın emphasized the importance of innovation and design in shaping the future of the home textile industry. The event highlighted the growing need for creative, original, and production-friendly design approaches.
One of the most notable achievements of the night was the TETSİAD Special Award, which was presented to Ahmet Ağlamaz. His innovative perspective, modern approach to home textile design, and ability to create production-ready concepts earned him recognition from the jury. Ahmet Ağlamaz received a prize of 2,000 TL.
In addition to the special award, several young designers from various universities were recognized in different categories. Winning designs will be produced by Taç, featured in consumer catalogues, and offered for online sale. Participants will also have the opportunity for internships or employment within Zorlu Textile Group.
For nine years, the “Design It Yourself Competition” has contributed significantly to the collaboration between the textile industry and design education, aiming to support the emergence of original and influential designers in the home textile sector. To date, nearly 2,500 works from around 50 universities have been submitted, with a total of approximately 130,000 TL awarded.
